“Don’t look anymore. He is great.”
The Cullman Times
My first teachers were G. Turchaninova and Zakhar Bron. Later on I studied with many more wonderful teachers: M. Lieberman, G. Zhislin and V. Berlinsky in Russia, Y. Kless and I. Svetlova in Israel, W. Hock in Germany and P. Rafferty in the US. Of course, my father, violinist Maxim Korn, and my mother, musicologist Isabela Korn helped me all along during these years to become an educated and well-rounded musician.
I was always very interested in the history of violin teaching and teaching process itself. It is fascinating to observe how one can learn. In a way, it is like watching a child growing. One may not notice the difference from day to day but see the outcome after the years go by.
Twenty years ago I taught my first lesson and I liked it so much that I have never stopped. Since then I have taught dozens of students at homes, private and public schools, music schools and universities. My students have been as young as four and as old as seventy-six. They live in Russia, Germany, Spain, Israel and the United States and they all have a great time playing the violin.
